Most safaris are only 7 to 10 days long, visiting just a few parks or reserves. This hardly affords a real opportunity to fully explore what Kenya has to offer in wildlife, culture and history. The safari is 33 days in length, and visits 12 parks and reserves, 7 museums, and a number of cultural activities to include visits to traditional villages and homes. Participants will explore Kenya unlike any other safari offered by anyone! You will see amazing wildlife, spectacular & varied landscapes and experience culture and history close up. You will “know” Kenya when you return.
This safari is more for the active traveler, one who wants to do more than just view wildlife from the comfort of a Land Cruiser. Participants will have many opportunities for activities and experiences not found in the normal tourist safari. There will be opportunities to go on relaxing hikes to view wildlife and environs, visits to cultural and historic museums and visits to traditional homes where you can meet and spend the day with families.
If your travel preference is for a more involved experience, if you have the time and spirit of the explorer, this is the safari for you!
This itinerary will cover every environ that Kenya has to offer, from high altitude tropical forests, to deserts, to bush country, to savannas, to the beautiful white sand beaches of the Kenya Coast. In additional to many wildlife viewing drives, participants will go on many walks to view wildlife, nature and caves. The walks are not strenuous, and are optional. The safari will also offer cultural and historic activities not offered in the majority of safaris. There will be visits to many cultural and historic museums and opportunities to visit and learn from local tribal families. Those with an interest will have an opportunity to do a overnight stay with a family. There will be visits to ancient cities and forts. All the activities are too numerous to list here.
With 33 days of activities, the accommodations are too many to list. The accommodations range from mid range to, home stays, to non-tourist facilities to sea side villas.

This safari is for the traveler looking for more upscale accommodations and very personal service and the traveler who has likely traveled to Kenya before and is looking to return. The safari is 17 days in length and visits select parks and private reserves, most of which will have far fewer tourists than the larger parks. The purpose is to give the traveler a more relaxed and special experience.
The itinerary will cover a variety of environments, from high altitude tropical forests, to deserts, bush country, the Great Rift Valley and the vast savanna of the Maasai Mara. In addition to daily game drives, there will be opportunities to go on game viewing walks, a night game viewing drive, boat safaris and fishing. The safari takes place at the time of the great migration, when there will be opportunities to see vast numbers of wildlife.
Accommodations on this safari range from the mid range category to the upscale. At Aberdare National Park, you stay at The Ark Lodge, viewing wildlife that visit the waterhole throughout the night. In Laikipia you stay at the upscale private camp of El Karama, where you go on game walks. In Samburu National Reserve you stay at the very exclusive Larsen’s Camp. You are also treated to a night at the famous Mount Kenya Safari Club. In the Great Rift Valley you stay at the small and romantic upscale Chui Lodge. Your safari ends in the Maasai Mara staying at Royal Mara Camp, a luxury class camp on the banks of the Mara River. Your last day is at Mara Serena Lodge high atop a hill in the Mara, providing spectacular views of the savanna and wildlife below. Throughout the safari will be exceptional cuisine!

Accommodations are popular and affordable safari lodges and camps. The safari is 12 days in length to accommodate that 2 week vacation window. The tour visits some of the more popular and well known parks in Kenya, which will give the traveler an excellent introduction to the wildlife and peoples of Kenya.

In Nairobi you stay at the historic Stanley Hotel, whose historic visitors have included Teddy Roosevelt and Ernest Hemingway. At the private reserve of Ol Pejeta you stay at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. In Samburu National Reserve you stay at the Serena Lodge on the banks of the Ewaso N’Giro River. A big treat will be a one night stay at the famous Mount Kenya Safari Club. In the Mount Kenya Forest you at the Serena Mountain Lodge, overlooking a natural waterhole where wildlife visits throughout the night. In the Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park you stay at Lion Hill Lodge overlooking the lake. Your last stop on your itinerary is the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Here you stay at Fig Tree Camp on the Talek River.
